Vice Principal and PYP Coordinator

ACG Jakarta's modern facilities provide a safe environment for learning and growth to the over 350 students studying IB and Cambridge courses at the school. Situated on beautiful grounds, the campus includes 30 classrooms, two science laboratories, library, music and art rooms, and incorporates a Musholla (Prayer Room) to support the diversity and values that underpin the school. ACG Jakarta is a thriving community of students, families and staff, with a mission and vision to focus on Sustainability, Entrepreneurship; with local and global action. The Principal is moving forward with campus plans revisions and curriculum updates and seeks a collaborative changemaker to join his Academic Leadership Team (ALT).

Key responsibilites:

The Vice Principal and PYP Coordinator promotes inquiry learning strategies within the PYP framework to create a positive learning environment that motivates and challenges all learners to become self-regulated, life-long learners and leaders. In this role you will be responsible for the coordination and pedagogical leadership of the early years and IB primary years programme including:

  • Liasing between IB and the school
  • Developing the PYP and it's implementation
  • Ensuring PYP articulation
  • Contributing to the IB authorization process
  • Promoting Professional development opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to support the Principal to set the tone for the culture, through role modelling the schools values and IB learner profile in their action and communication.
  • Strength in mentoring new and coaching current teachers in PYP practices and their application
  • A strong pedagogical understanding of the PYP and its implementation within a culturally diversity school setting.
  • Ability to facilitate and encourage strong collaborative practices.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks within and without the Primary Section of the school.
