The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) is a regulatory authority of the Government of Dubai and is responsible for the growth, direction and quality of private education and learning in Dubai.  They also support the improvement of schools, universities, training institutes and other human resource sectors. 

KHDA co-ordinates with many different partners; students, parents, teachers, the private sector and other Government bodies all play a role in Dubai’s education community. Their work ranges from early childhood to adult learning and, guided by the Government’s strategy, is carried out to ensure everything we do benefits our highest priority – the students of Dubai.

Their vision is "Lifelong learning to fulfil Dubai’s aspirations" and they have made it their mission to assure quality and to improve accessibility to education, learning and human development, with the engagement of the community.

KHDA are seeking experienced Inspectors to start as soon as possible. They are looking for Inspectors who have a good understanding of school improvement leading from school inspection and with specific subject knowledge and / or experience of Early Childhood, Inclusion and Wellbeing, International Assessment, IB curriculum or the US curriculum.

Vacancy Requirements:

  • Fully qualified teacher status with an internationally recognised teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience in a similar leadership role.
  • Good understanding of school improvement leading from school inspection and with specific subject know and / or experience of Early Childhood or Inclusion and Wellbeing.
  • Due to work visa restrictions candidates must be below the age of 55 years old.

Required knowledge, skills and attitudes:

  • Broad and current knowledge of inspection/accreditations
  •  A sound understanding of the issues relating to school improvement, enhancing learning and the raising of standards in relation to all students, including those with special needs 
  • Up-to-date knowledge of special education needs issues in schools and an understanding of best international practice in relation to inclusion, children’s rights and UAE law
  • Understanding of the religious and cultural sensitivities surrounding work in the Middle east 
  • Understanding of the international best practice in school effectiveness
  • High standard of oral and written communication in English
  • Well-developed IT skills 
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to form positive relationships and interaction with all stakeholder groups
  • Ability to make clear and well organised presentations to groups of key stakeholders
